VIDEO: PM Browne Slams Opposition’s Latest Land Proposal as “Greed”

PM speaks on recent proposal by opposition MPs

Prime Minister Gaston Browne revealed that opposition parliamentarians are seeking to acquire government land overlooking the luxurious Royalton Hotel — but at a price that he described as “greed”.

According to Browne, during a recent caucus held after the last parliamentary sitting, opposition members requested one to two acres of prime land at an astonishingly low price of just $3 per square foot. This starkly contrasts with the current market value, which hovers around $10 per square foot.

Browne didn’t hesitate to express his concerns about a request.

Listen to what he said on Saturday.

    • Serpent leases those acres of agriculture lands before he went into politics. You need to be focusing on how many agriculture lands Goston Brown bought instead of leasing since he became the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, and along with all the other ABLP ministers of government. Please leave Serpent alone, he is not perfect, so again leave him be!

  2. Mr PM, look who is calling the kettle black. You used your position as the country leader to buy government lands at a peppercorn price and sell to the highest bidder.

    • On a serious note there is absolutely nothing wrong with the request from the opposition MPs. Frankly speaking they are born and bread antiguans. They deserve a right to own a piece of this country. My question is though…why would this even be a conversation on the PM radio station? Furthermore isn’t the prime.ministwr giving all kinds of investors land for nothing? Tell me why does it even matter how much they are requesting the land for? I also have another question MR PM…how much land do you own?
