Team Antigua & Barbuda has secured a spot in the finals of the 53rd Leeward Islands Debating Competition after a hard-fought victory over defending champions Nevis in Friday’s semifinal. The team, represented by Jada Quinland and Leanna Browne of Antigua State College, triumphed with a final score of 720 to 696.

The dynamic duo successfully proposed the moot, “Parental leave should be equal for both mothers and fathers,” demonstrating a strong argument and well-crafted points.

Quinland’s exceptional performance earned her the title of Best Speaker of the night.

Antigua & Barbuda will now face St. Maarten in the highly anticipated final, set to take place on Saturday evening, March 8. The team’s journey to the finals has been a testament to their skill and determination, and they’ll be looking to finish strong as they aim for the championship.
