9 March 2025 - 17:07

Another athlete has qualified for the Carifta Games, bringing Antigua and Barbuda’s tally thus far to eight.

Jevon Simon of the Ottos Comprehensive School and Edus Sports/Panthers Track Club dipped under the 49.80 Boys U17 400m Carifta standard set on Saturday night.

The young quarter miler fresh off his 100m silver medal on Friday night, returned a day later at the Interschools Athletics Championships to register a time of 49.63sec to secure qualification.

This will be Simon’s first showing at the Carifta Games scheduled for April 19-21 in Trinidad and Tobago.
