AG Gives Incoming Police Commissioner Thumbs Up

Acting Police Commissioner Everton Jeffers

The country’s Attorney General and Public Safety Minister Sir Steadroy Benjamin is confident that Acting Police Commissioner Everton Jeffers will perform exemplary in the role of Police Commissioner.

Jeffers will be confirmed as the country’s new Police Commissioner replacing Atlee Rodney who is taking up the post of Deputy Executive Director of the Regional Security System RSS effective April 7th.

In a state media interview Benjamin describes Jeffers as a disciplinarian who understands people with more than 40 years of experience.

“He’s a good Christian minded man and I’m certain that with his experience he will be able to bring the people together as a unit. He talks about community policing, neighborhood watches and getting the public informed and involved in police activity,” Benjamin stated.

Jeffers is expected to be confirmed soon.
