Police authorities are conducting a thorough investigation following the discovery of a male body in Swetes on Monday evening.

Acting Commissioner of Police Everton Jeffers provided an update on the investigation, stating, “The x-rays have been done …and we are looking forward to the postmortem being completed in a short time.”

The Commissioner declined to speculate on whether the deceased might be connected to any missing persons cases currently under investigation.

“I’m not going to speculate at this time on whether it might be one of the missing persons we are searching for. But just to say we are awaiting the outcome of the postmortem investigation,” Jeffers said.

According to police reports, the discovery occurred at approximately 5 pm on Monday when an area resident found the motionless body of a male in a bushy area near an unoccupied house. The resident promptly alerted the All Saints Police Station.

When officers responded to the scene, they found the deceased wearing a T-shirt and boxer shorts. The investigation expanded as members of the Serious Crimes Unit and Forensics Unit arrived to process the scene.

The man was officially pronounced dead at 8:29 p.m., after which his body was transported to a funeral home for further examination.
