National female record holder, Joella Lloyd will be the lone representative for Antigua and Barbuda at the 2025 World Indoor Championships in Nanjiing, China.
Lloyd who clocked a season’s best of 7.13 seconds in Gainesville, Florida last month will compete in the Women’s 60m dash.
The event will run on Saturday at 11:15 AM Nanjing time.
A standout sprinter, Lloyd has long been a key figure in Antigua and Barbuda’s athletics scene.
Born on April 12, 2002, in St John’s, she attended Antigua Girls’ High School before continuing her studies and athletics career at the University of Tennessee.
Her achievements include national records in both the 100m and 200m and a remarkable performance at the 2021 SEC Championships, where she won the indoor 60m title with a personal best of 7.15 seconds—then the fastest time in the world by any female athlete under 20 years old.
