The public is being encouraged to take advantage of the Alma Mater Day celebrations across the schools on March 28.
Education Officer for Statistics in the Ministry of Education Alison Leadette spoke on the importance of the day.
“It contributes to their growth, and we have to especially now show our students that there’s hope. We have to let them see that these are times where everyone has to bond together where we know where we are from and where we are going and that in itself builds a school. It gives you a sense of belonging,” Leadette said.
Alma Mater Day is a day where past students can reflect and show appreciation for the school they attended. Alumni are given the opportunity to attend their schools participating in various activities geared.
It is an occasion where past students can also dress in their old uniforms, give back and touch base with the present student faculty.
Various schools like the Princess Margaret School, All Saints Secondary School, Antigua Girls High, Antigua Grammar School and others have shared a full length of activities starting from 8:30 am.
