In a move to enhance eye health in Antigua and Barbuda, the Ophthalmology team at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center, in collaboration with Trinidad Eye Hospital, has successfully completed another round of eye surgeries.

This latest initiative focused on essential surgical procedures, including cataract surgeries and pterygium removals, and has positively impacted the lives of 99 patients.

The team executed a series of surgical interventions aimed at improving vision and overall eye health. Post-operative care was also provided to ensure patients are recovering well and receiving the follow-up attention they need.

This initiative underscores the commitment of healthcare professionals here to address eye health needs and improve the quality of life for individuals within the community. The collaboration between the Ophthalmology team and Trinidad Eye Hospital exemplifies the importance of teamwork in achieving successful health outcomes.

  1. Sometimes we have alot of privileges in the Caribbean that people in the first world countries dont. In the US these Healthcare services are so expensive and require insurance. In Antigua health check like prostate and eye and even dental.can be free. Let us not take for granted all we have.. many time we are ungrateful until we travel abroad and realize the grass is never much greener over there.
