Coconut waste in Friars Hill has caused concern for residents (file photo)
Residents in the Frairs Hill area, particularly around Dunbars, are voicing their frustration over the increasing nuisance caused by local coconut farmers.
Complaints have been flooding in from homeowners who are struggling to navigate their neighborhoods due to the careless disposal of coconut waste along the roadside.
The issue has particularly affected the vicinity of Old Popeshead Street, where residents describe the situation as unsightly and hazardous. Similar complaints have also emerged from residents in Cedar Valley, indicating that the problem is widespread.
“It’s becoming increasingly difficult to walk through or even drive through the area with all this waste littering the roads,” one resident stated. “It not only looks bad but poses health concerns as well.”
Local authorities are urged to step in and address the situation to improve the living conditions of the community.
The impact of the coconut farming community’s practices has prompted discussions on better waste management solutions that could benefit both the farmers and the residents.
As the complaints continue to rise, residents hope for a swift resolution to restore the cleanliness and safety of their neighborhoods.

Stop the coconut vending for a few weeks. Send a message to every one of them.
Nasty people alone in this country yeah. We can do better than this! Stop making the country ugly. The government is doing it well
Nonsense!
I mean what should we expect again. That just the way people stay. Just litter all over
All antiguans are dirt bags and love living like dirty pigs.
More reasons for cameras to be installed in the areas affected
Is it farmers that sell coconuts? Or coconut vendors who buy from farmers? Could your reporters clarify that please? I may be wrong, but I am not convinced that farmers leave their farms to journey to Friars Hill Road to sell coconuts. But I may be wrong.
