As March draws to a close, the atmosphere at Five Islands Primary School is heavy with sorrow, as they reflect on a series of heartbreaking events that happened in March last year and also this year.

Martina Humphreys, the Family Life Education teacher at the school, expresses a sentiment shared by many: the month of March has proven to be particularly unlucky.

Last year, March brought the devastating loss of a beloved teacher, Davis, who had an indelible impact on the lives of countless students. This year, the heartache deepened with the tragic death of 9-year-old student Chantel Crump.

In a recent conversation with Briana Anthony, Miss Humphreys shared her deep concern over the emotional toll these losses have taken on the school community.

Looking back at march, it’s sad to say that this month has been the worse for Antigua. The tragic murder of an innocent nine year old has rocked the nations to its core. We won’t wake up from this madness

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH You Antigua Surf ……We certainly will Take A VERY LONG TIME (if ever) To Get Over THIS NATIONAL TRAGEDY!!!!

How Or Who Can Assist A Mourning NATION??? THIS Pain Will NEVER EVER Leave OUR COLLECTIVE HEARTS …..💞 💜 ♥️ ❤️

For me each time I hear her Name — Chantel Crump — tears come to my eyes And My Heart Aches ……. My Sole Comfort is That Chantel Is In THE ARMS OF JESUS…… Safe And Sound …. Yet The Pain of what was done to THIS INNOCENT Child (Our Collective Baby Chantel Crump) will NEVER LEAVE US!!!

My way of Dealing with my Pain is to Reason (in my mind) that God sent Chantel to THIS NATION To Teach Us All A LESSON That could ONLY BE TAUGHT To Us in THIS Manner ….., I also Believe deep within me that Chantel DID NOT FEEL ANY PAIN … Because JESUS HIMSELF was Holding Her Close to His SACRED HEART ♥️ throughout her entire experience…… to me She Is and Will Always Be SAINT CHANTEL CRUMP!!!!
She gave her Life WILLINGLY TO SAVE HER NATION…….!!!! I Pray WE ALL Will Learn EXACTLY WHAT SHE WAS SENT AMONG US TO TEACH US ALL ….. May her Mom and Dad and ALL her Family Members be COMFORTED ….. if I (who didn’t know this Angel) can be so affected by her Life Among Us …. How Much More those persons who lived close to her …… Her Biography will be written….. and Chantel Crump WILL Live On In ALL OF OUR HEARTS 🥰 FOREVER!!!!!
