Governor General His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams and Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne hosted an engaging session with Grade One students from the Five Islands Primary School on Monday morning at the Parliament Building.
During the visit, the leaders spoke with the eager students on important topics, including “stranger danger,” self-confidence, the workings of government and parliament, and the importance of striving for excellence.
Governor General Sir Rodney Williams encouraged the students to stay focused on their education, remain determined, and aim high to achieve great things.
Prime Minister Browne reinforced the importance of developing good habits to become responsible citizens of Antigua and Barbuda.
Addressing the recent passing of their schoolmate, Chantel Crump, both leaders expressed their condolences and reassured students that the government is committed to their safety.
They urged them to be cautious, avoid strangers, and always report any concerns to their teachers or parents.
The visit was part of a Social Studies project, providing the young students with a firsthand look at leadership and governance
