The Minister of Creative Industries presented a proposal to the Cabinet to change the Carnival Tuesday parade route, citing safety concerns. It was approved.

With the growing number of participants in the annual Carnival festivities, the need for a route that ensures a secure environment has become apparent.

The proposed route mirrors that of the T-shirt Mas parade, which begins on Old Parham Road and follows a well-structured path: a right turn onto Simon Bolivar Boulevard, moving west onto Sir Sydney Walling Highway, then south onto Parliament Drive.

The route continues west on Queen Elizabeth Highway, north onto Independence Drive, and west onto Redcliffe Street.

It then takes a turn north onto Thames Street, east onto High Street, and back north onto Independence Drive before entering Carnival City at the Cenotaph entrance.

The Cabinet unanimously supported the proposal, highlighting its commitment to the safety and enjoyment of all involved in the Carnival celebrations.

With this new route, officials are optimistic that the vibrant tradition will continue while prioritizing the well-being of everyone participating and watching the parades.
