What did I just watch? This woman has the nerve to try to protect what her daughter did to that poor old woman? They should increase her sentence after the appeal.

Hope she blames herself first for her irresponsible copulation, to begin with, and apologizes to the public at large for having spurned this monster on to an unsuspecting public in the first place. Parents must take responsibility for their reckless actions before demanding that society pick up the tabs for their reckless behaviour.

Faithful national #1, I don’t know why Antigua.News don’t block your comments. You sound just like the government when trying to protect themselves. You hear the lady explaining the problem, even saying that it makes her see little men, if you don’t understand the meaning of little men it means as seeing normal people talking to you, Jumby talking to you. The woman did not say her daughter isn’t suppose to face her consequences but 27 years is too much for a mental patient. They don’t take care of people inside the prison, imagine if her mind acts up on her again. She did apologize to the family for the loss of their loved one. Antigua has no place or even care for it’s citizen by the way. So yes the system failed Brittany, the goverment failed brittany. I agree to justice for the finchs but at the same time. They know about these mental problem. so before jumping down the woman’s throat think about how the system is, nothing but a failure. A person of great minds killed a 9 year old and can’t even be charged to this date. Faithfull national, do you mind speaking on thta? Antigua.news went out and speak with the family of Chantel many times and still no sign of care has been sent out from the authorities. Bique-Charles and her team is following each of these cases very closely. Antigua.news is the only ones i see seems to care about these matters. Nobody else. best yall put Shermain and her crew in the authority and not come under their articles and talk shii. the goverment are the only monsters.

Waw. Antigua.news. This one here is serious. I don’t know whose said to stand. This was an exceptional piece. Especially since we don’t usually get the accused family’s perspective. This should go places. I hope the Finch family can at least see this and perhaps see it from the family lense. When the daughter started to cry, I was moved to tears too. Good work, team Antigua.news

Indeed. Another “This has been a production of Antigus.News, I am Shermain Bique-Charles.” If I’m being right, this is the first time i’ve seen a full video interview done with the family of a murderer. This mother must feel pleased to have been able to speak out. well done Antigua.News

It doesn’t matter if her daughter has mental problems, she caused a death, and she must pay for it.

When we as a society stop stigimatzing mental health issues situations like this will be less common place. Pretending like a problem does not exist does not make it go away. Conversely, looking down on and shaming those who grapple with the harsh realities of the condition(with a myriad of diagnoses under this one umbrella)does not help either. We must do better treating those affected.

This situation is truly heartbreaking. It’s devastating to think about the pain that both families are experiencing right now. Leandra must be feeling an overwhelming mix of emotions, and I can only imagine how challenging this time is for her and Brittany. My thoughts are with them as they navigate through this tragic event. It’s so important for everyone involved to find the support they need during such difficult times.
