The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission has announced that Trinidadian soca icon Machel Montano will headline this year’s Melting Pot, a staple event during the annual Carnival celebrations.
The announcement came Thursday night during the reveal of the Queen of Carnival contestants, where festivals officials shared that Montano’s appearance will honor local soca diva Claudette Peters, who is celebrating 25 years in the entertainment industry.
Montano, who recently dominated Trinidad’s Carnival with his road march hit “Pardy” and other popular tracks like “Truth,” has built a massive following among soca enthusiasts.
The decorated artist also currently holds the title of reigning Chutney Monarch and has accumulated dozens of soca crowns throughout his illustrious career.
He last performed in Antigua at the “One Nation Concert” in 2023.
In addition to Montano and Peters herself, the commission has confirmed that Triple K and Tian Winter will also perform at the event, with more artist announcements expected in the coming weeks.
The Melting Pot will take place on July 31st at Carnival City, promising to be one of the highlights of this year’s festival season.

I never get why we pay these foreign artist all these money to come and perform on our stages for 20 minutes. We already have top star local artist. I mean i never been a person for carnival but I see this as ridiculousness. Cause other people are not getting paid for thier dedicated services.
