Antigua & Barbuda continues to make its mark at the 52nd CARIFTA Games in Trinidad, with rising star Tyra Fenton storming to gold in the Girls’ Under-17 400m final.
The 14-year-old sprint sensation delivered a commanding performance, crossing the finish line in an impressive 53.93 seconds to secure the nation’s second medal of the track and field championships.
This brings Antigua & Barbuda’s total medal count at the Games to four.
Earlier, Ranique Richards claimed the bronze medal in the Under-17 Girls Shot Put, throwing a distance of 12.57 meters, earning the nation its first medal of the regional athletics competition.

Geolyna Dowdie added to the tally with a silver medal in the Girls’ Under-20 100m final, showcasing her blistering speed on the track.

In the pool, Madison McMillan made history by capturing Antigua & Barbuda’s first medal at the CARIFTA Swimming Championships. Competing in the Girls’ 15-17 800m freestyle, McMillan earned a well-deserved bronze medal on Saturday.
