Two men are now in police custody in connection with a breaking and larceny incident at a supermarket on Market Street.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 20, police officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department and the Special Services Unit responded to a report of a burglary in progress at the TINY Supermarket.

Upon arrival, the police discovered two male suspects, a 24-year-old from Parham and a 29-year-old from Hatton hiding inside the building.

Both suspects were apprehended and taken into custody. Several items, believed to have been stolen from the business place, were recovered at the scene.

The police have since launched a full investigation into the matter, and charges are expected to follow.

The Administration of the Royal Police Force continues to encourage business owners to install and maintain proper security systems, including alarms and surveillance cameras, to help deter criminal activity.

Anyone with additional information related to this incident is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).
