Deportations to occur soon

Immigration authorities have granted a one-month grace period to a Jamaican national who recently completed his prison term for a 2013 murder, allowing him to settle his affairs before mandatory deportation.

Jeffrey “Nash” Campbell must leave Antigua and Barbuda by May 18, 2025, following his recent release from prison where he served time for killing Sylvester “Copper” Carbon.

The victim was fatally shot while walking on Bridge Road in Grays Farm after leaving a local shop on April 10, 2013.

During Tuesday’s court proceedings, Campbell, who has resided in Antigua since 2005, successfully petitioned for additional time before returning to Jamaica. The court imposed strict conditions, including twice-weekly check-ins with Immigration officials and a $10,000 bail requirement with an Antiguan citizen serving as surety.

The magistrate recognized Campbell’s lengthy residency warranted reasonable time to dispose of personal property and settle outstanding matters. Court documents reveal Campbell has children born in Antigua who no longer live in the country

Immigration authorities have specified that Campbell’s family must cover his return transportation costs to prevent government expense.

Campbell’s travel documents will remain in official custody while he reports to the Immigration Department every Monday and Thursday between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm until his mandated departure date.

Die to the capacity of his crime why would you grant him bail on such a low amount, and then ask him to come to sign?
