Prime Minister extends congratulations to Mark Carney, Canada’s Prime Minister-elect
29 April 2025
Honourable Mark Carney
Prime Minister-elect
Prime Minister’s Office
Ottawa, CANADA
Dear Prime Minister:
On behalf of the Government and people of Antigua and Barbuda, I extend hearty congratulations on your recent election victory. Al of Antigua and Barbuda celebrates with you, Prime Minister, for your strengthening of democratic ideals and for placing Canada in a position to continue its role as a generous country, dedicated to achieving sustainable development.
In light of the chaos and disruption which our neighbours’ policy pronouncements have caused, I congratulate you, Prime Minister, and the people of Canada for their determination to assert the sovereignty and continued prosperity of your beautiful country. The admiration for Canada, Prime Minister, has been largely augmented within my Caribbean region.
The deep bonds of friendship and cooperation between Antigua and Barbuda and Canada are long-standing and highly valued. I look forward to working closely with you and your Government, Prime Minister, and to achieving the sustainable development goals which we have set for ourselves.
Please accept, Honourable Prime Minister, my very best wishes for success and for the continued well-being of the people of Canada.
I avail myself of this opportunity, Prime Minister, to renew the assurances of my highest regard and esteem.
Honourable Gaston Browne M.P.
Prime Minister
