The Cabinet continues to emphasize the urgent need for the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) to account for its water supply management

This call to action follows concerns about the provision of water to homes, hotels, government institutions, and other consumers across the island.

Currently, the Potworks Dam, a significant source of water, has ceased its daily withdrawal of 900,000 gallons, prompting the need for the Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plants to increase their output.

The Cabinet highlighted the importance of these plants stepping up to address the deficit in potable water available for public consumption.

To support the APUA in these efforts, the Cabinet has approved a financial injection to ensure that necessary parts are readily available to maintain the RO plants’ operations.

This strategic investment is expected to enhance the agency’s capacity to deliver water effectively during this challenging period.

I have no water at home from APUA. When the water finally comes I cant even wash my dog with it. Its murky. We need to pray for continuous rain. Only sky water we can depend on. APUA cant seem to get it right

APUA needs to communicate better with the public. When will people get consistent supply again?

We’ve been getting water once every few weeks. Hope this means real change and not just more talk. It’s not just about fixing RO plants, what’s the long-term water strategy? Climate change isn’t going away.
