Police Probing Shooting Incident in Villa

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident that occurred in Villa during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Initial reports indicate that a 27-year-old male was shot by an unknown assailant and sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

He was subsequently transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. His injury is reported not to be life-threatening.

 

Further investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, the police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could assist in the investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914. Information can also be shared anonymously by calling the Crimestoppers Hotline at 800-TIPS (8477).
