Antigua & Barbuda has made its debut on the World’s 50 Best Beaches list, with Ffryes Beach securing the 31st position in the 2025 rankings.

The annual report, which evaluates beaches worldwide based on eight specific criteria, describes Ffryes Beach as “a beach with unspoiled, Caribbean charm.”

According to the report, “Ffryes Beach is the quintessential Caribbean beach without the crowds. Located on the west coast of Antigua, it stands out for its serene, unspoiled charm and relatively low profile compared to other beaches on the island.”

The beach earned praise for its tranquil atmosphere and natural setting. “Ffryes Beach offers a peaceful, laid-back atmosphere, with only a few low-key beach bars nearby, making it the perfect escape from more crowded, commercialized spots,” notes the report.

The ranking highlights particular features that impressed the judges, including “calm waters, ideal for families and those wanting to swim, kayak, or simply wade along the shore.” The report also mentions that the beach is “surrounded by lush, natural vegetation and framed by gentle hills,” offering “a sense of seclusion while still being easily accessible.”

Visitors to Ffryes Beach can also experience “some of the most stunning sunset views on the island,” according to the World’s 50 Best Beaches assessment.

Antigua & Barbuda joins several other Caribbean destinations on the 2025 list, with the region claiming nearly a dozen spots. Canto de la Playa in the Dominican Republic ranked highest among Caribbean beaches at number six globally, while Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos placed 10th.

Other Caribbean beaches recognized include Shoal Bay East in Anguilla (#14), Seven Mile Beach in Cayman Islands (#23), The Baths in the British Virgin Islands (#29), Grand Anse in Grenada (#32), Bahia de Las Aguilas in the Dominican Republic (#34), Meads Bay in Anguilla (#35), and Klein Bonaire Beach in Bonaire (#44).

The British Virgin Islands and Bonaire, like Antigua & Barbuda, made their first appearances on the prestigious global beaches list this year.

The World’s 50 Best Beaches rankings are determined by votes from more than 1,000 travel industry professionals and influencers who evaluate beaches on factors including unique characteristics, wildlife, untouched nature, natural soundtrack, ease of water entry, calm conditions, lack of overcrowding, and consistency of idyllic settings.
