Number Portability in Antigua and Barbuda Set for June 2025

Prime Minister says cell phone number portability scheduled for June (file photo)

Antigua and Barbuda’s long-awaited implementation of number portability has been postponed until June 2025. Prime Minister Gaston Browne made the announcement, revealing that telecommunications minister Melford Nicholas provided this update.

Number portability allows residents to switch mobile network carriers without changing their phone numbers, offering users greater flexibility and choice in their telecommunications services.

The government has been in discussions with the country’s three primary mobile carriers, INET, Digicel, and Flow, to finalize the necessary arrangements for this transition.

As the new June 2025 roll-out date approaches, many hope the additional time will facilitate a smoother implementation process.

  2. That’s such a bummer! I was really looking forward to number portability happening sooner. But I guess waiting until June 2025 isn’t the worst thing. That’s because we have been waiting for a very long time. And if this happens then it’ll be awesome to have more freedom with our phone numbers! Can’t wait to finally switch carriers without all the hassle! 😩📱
