The American University of Antigua (AUA) College of Medicine donated 10 laptops to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) to support its digital transformation, particularly during the implementation of a new Hospital Information System (HIS).
The donation will enhance clinical documentation, improve access to patient data, and streamline communication between care teams.
Dr. Shivon Belle-Jarvis, SLBMC’s Medical Director, emphasized the importance of these tools for staff efficiency, while Osbert Josiah, the IT Manager, noted that technology is crucial for modern healthcare.
AUA’s Chief Operating Officer, Vernon Solomon, expressed pride in supporting SLBMC’s efforts toward a more connected and patient-centered future.
The ongoing partnership between AUA and SLBMC aims to strengthen healthcare delivery in Antigua and Barbuda.
I like how AUA gives back to the community and people of the county they call home.
Other institutions should follow suit
AUA has been a beacon of hope in Antigua showing that they are will to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Do it silently for once. No one needs to know.
