The West Indies Oil Company (WIOC) is currently grappling with approximately US$200,000 in legal fees stemming from a disclosure request filed in the United States District Court. Finance Minister and Prime Minister Gaston Browne disclosed this information.
In April, WIOC took proactive measures by submitting an uncontested motion to intervene in the case following allegations regarding the company that surfaced in a New York matter. The move illustrates the company’s commitment to addressing concerns and protecting its reputation.
To date, the government has already spent around US$136,000 in legal expenses related to this issue. With overall legal costs now exceeding XCD$900,000, the situation highlights the significant financial strain on the company due to ongoing legal challenges.

This is just the beginning of the money that you will spend where this legal matter is concerned. Part of me feel hurt because it is the poor tax payers money. But this could have been avoided. The Russians are very evil. They will milk ANU out of every penny
