Prime Minister Gaston Browne has urged local banks to take a more proactive approach in providing loans to residents for agricultural activities.

Speaking on his radio station on Saturday, Browne emphasized the importance of supporting farmers, particularly given the myriad challenges faced by the agricultural sector.

As a former banker, Browne expressed confidence that numerous strategies are available to mitigate the financial risks associated with farming. His call to action highlights a growing concern within the community for food security and sustainable agriculture.

The Prime Minister’s appeal comes at a time when many farmers are struggling to secure the necessary funding to invest in modern farming techniques and infrastructure.

  3. I am not into politics, but I agree with the prime minister. Farmers are sometimes looked down upon. When they come for loans they are turned down. Good word PM
