UWI Five Islands Male and Female Volley Ball Team

The University of the West Indies (UWI) Five Islands Campus is commending the dedicated efforts of the male and female volleyball teams following a recent championship clash with the UWI Mona Campus.

They may not have taken home the championship, but the Frigates emerged as true champions in resilience and sportsmanship, from intense training to game day performances, their commitment did not go unnoticed by those on campus.

Special thanks were extended from the Office of the Campus Principal to the head of the organising committee, Mr. Oshane Grant, along with Mr. Amarny Anthony and the Facilities Team for their behind-the-scenes work that helped make the event a reality. Praise was also extended to the Antigua and Barbuda Volleyball Association and local clubs, for their support in bringing the championships to life.

Gratitude was also expressed to the fans whose passion and vocal support filled the venue. “you came, you cheered, you cried, and you shouted a few times. You are a great part of the Frigate family and we are happy that you came out to support the teams!” the statement concluded.

The campus looks forward to building on this momentum as it continues to promote sporting excellence in Antigua and Barbuda and across the region.
