Emergency Water Repairs Prompt Temporary Road Closure

The APUA Water Business Unit wishes to advise the general public that emergency maintenance will be conducted this morning, beginning at approximately 10:00 a.m., along Independence Avenue between St. Mary’s Street and High Street.

This is in response to a ruptured mainline. While initial repairs were carried out yesterday evening, the fragility of the aged infrastructure caused an additional rupture in the area, requiring immediate attention.

As a result, this section of the roadway will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic to facilitate repairs.

Consequently, customers in Kings Obstinate Drive up to Green Bay, Ovals, Camacho Avenue, and along the eastern side of Corn Alley to Independence Avenue will experience a temporary disruption in their water supply.

APUA apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and assures the public that we are actively working through a phased plan to replace and upgrade the pipeline infrastructure network.

We thank you for your patience and understanding.

  1. Inconvenient, yes, but necessary. At least they’re addressing the problem promptly instead of letting it get worse. However, we need long-term investment in upgrading our water system.
