Deceased, Cadaphy Evanson
Police have launched a full investigation following a fatal shootout in Freetown on Monday night that left one man dead and a police officer wounded.
The deceased has been identified as Cadaphy Evanson, who allegedly opened fire on officers during a major law enforcement operation in the area around 11 p.m. Officers returned fire, fatally wounding him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
One police officer was also shot during the exchange but sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has since received treatment.
Authorities say they recovered a firearm and several matching rounds of ammunition from the scene.
In a related development, another man has since surrendered to the police, accompanied by his attorney, and is now being questioned in connection with the incident.
Police are continuing their investigation and have pledged to provide further updates as more information becomes available.

He was a father, a son, a brother and most importantly a child of God. The real truth will come to light! Until then be in peace .
The people that he robbed and killed were also fathers, sons, brothers and most importantly – children of God.
