Police have launched a full investigation following a fatal shootout in Freetown on Monday night that left one man dead and a police officer wounded.

The deceased has been identified as Cadaphy Evanson, who allegedly opened fire on officers during a major law enforcement operation in the area around 11 p.m. Officers returned fire, fatally wounding him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

One police officer was also shot during the exchange but sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has since received treatment.

Authorities say they recovered a firearm and several matching rounds of ammunition from the scene.

In a related development, another man has since surrendered to the police, accompanied by his attorney, and is now being questioned in connection with the incident.

Police are continuing their investigation and have pledged to provide further updates as more information becomes available.

  2. Young man, the wrong thing you did was opened fired on the law officers… that was one thing you don’t ever do… and all the other young men and women out there, please get that thought and ideas out of your head.
    Now, you have your mother in pains worse than she’s in labor pain all over again.

How many persons he killed they weren’t someone’s father , son , brother etc as well ? Wickedness!!!!! He didn’t work anywhere in his life but have money , just thieving people things . I am shocked how people crying for him since he was going Christian faith Academy he was bad & that was high school
