The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority was recognised for its support of yoga in Antigua and Barbuda, during the International Yoga Day celebrations held at the Coolidge Cricket Ground on June 21.

The celebration, hosted by the High Commission of India and the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, saw a large turnout of participants who joined in guided yoga exercises to mark the occasion.

Antigua and Barbuda Minister of Tourism, Charles Fernandez, was in attendance to support the event and the Tourism Authority’s ongoing efforts to tell the story of Antigua and Barbuda’s wellness attributes.

The award was presented to the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority in recognition of its ‘valuable contribution to the promotion and popularisation of yoga’.

Donyelle Bird-Browne, Wellness Pillar Lead at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, remarked, “We are really proud to support International Yoga Day. It’s a celebration that reflects the heart of what we offer as an internationally recognized wellness destination – connection, balance, and inspiration. Yoga brings people together in the spirit of wellbeing, and we’re grateful to be part of a movement that speaks to the future of meaningful travel to Antigua and Barbuda.”

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority continues to showcase wellness-focused experiences across the destination, aligning with the global demand for travel that rejuvenates body and soul.
