Husband replies to accusations, claiming defamation (file photo)
A man identified only as “Defamed Husband” responded to allegations made by his estranged wife regarding an alleged impending marriage in Antigua and Barbuda.
The claims surfaced in a recent interview titled “Marriage Fraud Alert,” where a medical doctor accused him of planning to wed while still married to her.
The husband disputes these allegations, asserting they are exaggerated and largely fabricated. “As you can imagine, news spreads quickly, especially when it is negative,” he wrote in a letter addressed to Antigua.news.
He described his estranged wife as “manipulative, deceptive, and controlling,” stating that they have been separated for over a year.
“She is simply trying to create havoc in my life. If she were to file for divorce, I would not oppose; in fact, I would be extremely happy,” he added.
The man vehemently denied any intention of committing marriage fraud, claiming that the accusations are baseless.
“Her entire voice recording is defamatory. I am not engaged to anyone at this time, let alone have an impending wedding set for the next three months,” he clarified.
He further emphasized his awareness of bigamy laws and stated that he has no plans to breach them. In his letter, the man alleged that his estranged wife is determined to make his life difficult, saying, “I am sure that my estranged wife does not have any substantial proof to support her vicious allegations because it is simply not true.”
He recounted a threatening message he received from her, which suggested dire consequences for his reputation and well-being.
“Not too long ago she sent me a message stating that ‘when she is done with me, I will never be able to get a job in Antigua and that I will never be able to walk comfortably on the street’. She even said that ‘when she is done with me and I am going to be a mad man’. My wife is abusive, and I had to run away from her. You do not want to know the half of the things that this woman has done to me over the years and up to this point,” the man said in his letter.

Everything that happened between us he would run to his sisters and mother. While in a relationship with me we decided to buy a house. Few months after we broke up. This man is telling the world that my house that I took my house to build belongs to him. One day he came to my house quarrelling saying he wants his money he gave me.
