Shadeesha Phillip

The sentencing of Shadesha Phillip has been postponed until next month following her court appearance yesterday, where Justice Tunde Bakre informed her that proceedings would be delayed pending completion of her probation report.

Phillip, a resident of Gray’s Farm, had entered a guilty plea for her role in the attempted robbery at Golden Grove Service Station and has remained on bail while awaiting her sentence.

The criminal incident dates back to June 24, 2021, when Phillip, then in her early twenties, and a masked accomplice targeted a female pump attendant in an attempted robbery.

Police intervention led to an armed confrontation between law enforcement and the suspects.

The shootout resulted in Phillip being wounded in the leg by gunfire, requiring her to receive treatment at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for the gunshot injury.

While security cameras captured footage of both perpetrators during the robbery attempt, which was subsequently released to the public, Phillip’s accomplice managed to evade capture and remains at large.

The court will reconvene for Phillip’s sentencing on July 8 once the outstanding probation documentation is prepared and submitted.

  5. When I said I need a friend in my corner! I meant one like this young lady! Because she ensure the friend’s name is not mentioned! Or what if the friend is dead? Either which! Loyalty over everything. The friend might be all she have, at least she has someone to take care of her while she’s inside!

  6. So she’s not going to say who the friend is? Ma’am you’re losing your life and you’re letting your friend live free?
