Hundreds of individuals took advantage of the opening day of the Ministry of Health’s multi-day health fair, held at the Multipurpose Cultural and Exhibition Centre. The event is being held in collaboration with United Hands Inc and the South Leeward Conference of Seventh Day Adventists.
The first day was dedicated exclusively to children aged 12 and under and adults 60 years and older, offering a safe and focused environment for two of the most at-risk age groups.
Attendees benefited from a wide range of free health services, including general medical check-ups, dental screenings, vision assessments, and other essential tests.
The health fair continues over the next three days when it will be open to the general public. All are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the comprehensive health services being offered.
Numbers are given until the daily capacity is reached.
Health is wealth so keep these clinics coming Mr. Minister until the renovation and full staffing of our area clinics. And a heartfelt thank you to all.
Seeing hundreds of people lining up for the health fair, especially seniors and children, shows there’s a real ‘pent-up demand’ for these free services, as the Minister said. So many people struggle with the cost of doctors and screenings, so having access to general check-ups, dental, and vision care, all for free, is a huge blessing.
Indeed a wealthy nation is a healthy nation
Very good initiative by the government and it’s partners
Proves that Antiguans only love freeness! Had it been at a fee you’d see no one!
Living in Antigua you’d know that doctor visits are very high! Even at the PUBLIC hospital fees are beyond your monthly salary! So, if it’s free why not take advantage?
