Car wrecks happen so often in the nation of Antigua and Barbuda, that it almost seems to be a topic to which people are becoming desensitized. Recently, we’ve seen some particularly horrifying examples that have seemingly moved the entire country.

Should we just give in and accept the current status quo? Or is this a situation that can be changed for the benefit of our society?

  1. Why are there so many humongous potholes that cause the drivers to sway or slow down, which more often or not would cause collisions.

    • Hi Mr/Mrs. Warner, thanks for your comment! I guess my response to that would be two-fold: there definitely should be less potholes, that goes without saying. Though, if I lived in a place that I knew had potholes, my driving would be *extremely* defensive. So even the act of defending myself against potholes would be done in a way as to avoid collisions. What’s your opinion?

      • Because there are alot of old cars in antigua and getting parts for old cars is either to expensive or not possible, so cars are left to waste away

  2. Orville! This is nothing shocking to the eyes. We just see a set of car accidents all over the country daily! These stupid drivers are the issues

    • The shocking part is the the volume of these accidents. It feels like it could and should be less, especially in such a small place as this. Stupidity is one thing, but I think carelessness is one of the bigger issues. I think that can be fixed – a lot more easily than fixing stupidity, I might add.

  3. The other day im driving and a man in a black government van just push out in front of me and still has the audacity to watch me in my eyes as if im the one in the wrong! Yesterday im turning the corner by dees service station, I was directly behind a vitz coming from sir George Walter highway traveling towards airport road and I’m traveling in the opposite direction. We both turn onto old parham road and I was directly behind the vitz out of no where came a jeep and he just swing the corner as if he didn’t see me and he didn’t stop, almost as if he didn’t care

    • “As if he didn’t care” I think is the operative term there. That, we can – and should – make an effort to fix.

  4. People just dont care. They drive recklessly. Most of the time, they are on their mobile. They putting on lipsticks. Men are smoking, high…this is the life and then the life ends

  6. Its a sweet feeling being in control of the road until you realize that the feeling will pass and their may die. Sometimes as a driver when I go fast I feel so high then reality kicks im that I could cause an accident
