Stop and Search Operations yield further results

Yesterday, a series of proactive stop-and-search operations conducted across various communities resulted in significant arrests by the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., authorities apprehended four male individuals from Villa on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm along with multiple rounds of ammunition.

In a related operation, another male suspect from Ottos was taken into custody for possessing cannabis. These arrests underscore the police force’s commitment to tackling illegal firearms and drugs, integral components of their broader strategy to enhance community safety and uphold law and order on the island.

Authorities have consolidated all seized items—including the firearm, ammunition, and cannabis—and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding these incidents. The police continue to emphasize the vital role of community cooperation in combatting crime.

Residents are encouraged to share any relevant information by contacting the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).PS (8477).
