A high-level delegation from Antigua and Barbuda joined regional partners in Grenada this week for a multidisciplinary workshop aimed at advancing integrated approaches to water security, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
The event brought together key representatives from the health, environment, tourism, and agriculture sectors, reinforcing the urgent need for cross-sector collaboration in building a water-secure Caribbean.
Antigua and Barbuda’s delegation included:

Gregory Bailey, Director of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries and the Blue Economy
Dr. Adelle Blair, Sustainable Tourism Officer, Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment
Jaabari Reynolds, Technical Officer responsible for Watershed Management and Protected Areas, Department of the Environment
Throughout the workshop, participants explored innovative solutions for managing water resources, mitigating climate impacts, and
promoting sustainable livelihoods.
The team from Antigua and Barbuda actively contributed to sessions focused on policy harmonization, community engagement, and practical tools for improving watershed and protected area management.
As Caribbean nations continue to face growing threats from climate change, the Grenada workshop underscored the shared commitment to sustainable development and regional solidarity in the journey toward water security.

I hope we see some improvements in their respective sectors
Great to see Antigua and Barbuda taking a proactive role in addressing water security and climate change. Collaboration like this is key to protecting our future.
Will the outcomes of this workshop be shared with the public? I’d like to know how these ideas will be implemented locally.
No matter what we do this water situation will be blighted until the Hadeeds give us back on monopoly on APUA
Workshops are great, but will watershed plans reach villages with dry taps? Hoping innovation flows from conference rooms to communities.
Great stuff. Anything to improve water security is welcomed
