Authorities have apprehended and charged a 16-year-old male and a 22-year-old male, both from Villa, for allegedly obstructing justice.

The pair is accused of deliberately providing false statements to police regarding an ongoing robbery investigation that took place in Sutherlands on Wednesday, 16 July 2025. They have been taken into custody and formally charged with their offenses.

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda is reminding the public that submitting false information to law enforcement is a serious crime that can severely disrupt the justice process. Community cooperation with law enforcement during investigations is encouraged.

Investigations into the original robbery incident are still underway.

  2. Some parents have to be blamed. What has the world come to when kids feel it’s acceptable to lie to the police? A 16-year-old and a 22-year-old, both from Villa, clearly have no regard for the consequences of their actions. And believe me his wasn’t the first time. They’re not just wasting police resources; they’re making it harder for justice to be served. Sometimes it takes on day to die and 10000000 days to commit their crime.

  5. The integrity of our justice system depends on investigations being able to proceed without interference. Charging individuals with perverting the course of justice is vital for protecting that integrity.
