Antigua and Barbuda will showcase its vibrant culture and growing appeal as a premier tennis and culinary destination at the 25th anniversary of Taste of Tennis, taking place on Thursday, August 21, at Aqua New York in Manhattan’s Flatiron District.

As a destination sponsor, the twin-island nation will headline the milestone event, which merges world-class cuisine and professional tennis to kick off the U.S. Open season. The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority is bringing the flavours of the Caribbean with acclaimed Chef Claude Lewis, an Antiguan-American and Chopped champion, who will present a curated tasting menu inspired by his heritage.

Guests will also enjoy premium English Harbour Rum tastings and have a chance to win a luxury stay for two at the recently upgraded Carlisle Bay Antigua, a beachfront, racquet-sport-friendly resort on the island’s southern coast.

“Taste of Tennis allows us to engage a sophisticated audience that values both elite sporting experiences and culinary excellence,” said Dean Fenton, U.S. Director of Tourism. “With Chef Claude Lewis and our premier tennis partners like Carlisle Bay, we’re proud to showcase the best of what our islands offer.”

Carlisle Bay, known for its five tennis courts, two pickleball courts, and luxury spa, recently underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation of its one-bedroom suites. The resort’s involvement reinforces Antigua and Barbuda’s positioning as a leading destination for tennis tourism. Other top properties catering to tennis enthusiasts include Curtain Bluff, Blue Waters, St. James’s Club, and Jumby Bay.

From year-round tennis camps to signature pro-am tournaments, the destination offers travellers the opportunity to combine active escapes with island indulgence.

“Taste of Tennis is more than an event, it’s a full-sensory experience that aligns beautifully with our brand,” said Arah Robins, U.S. Marketing and Public Relations Executive for Antigua and Barbuda. “Between our 365 beaches, robust tennis offerings, and Chef Claude’s authentic flavours, guests will leave with a genuine taste of paradise.”

Brian Hester, Partner at AYS Sports Marketing, organisers of Taste of Tennis, called the partnership a natural fit: “Antigua and Barbuda’s rich culture, gastronomy, and racquet-sport appeal make it the perfect destination for our audience of tennis lovers and foodies.”

Tickets for Taste of Tennis 2025 start at $515. For more information, visit www.tasteoftennis.com or follow @antiguabarbuda and @tasteoftennis on social media.
