An attempted arson incident was reported early in the morning on August 6, 2025, at a residence located at the junction of North Street and Deanery Lane. A concerned neighbor alerted authorities after witnessing suspicious activity near the front door of the property.

According to reports, the homeowner was awakened by a commotion outside, where he heard someone shouting that his house was on fire. Upon investigating, he discovered a fire near his front door, which he was able to extinguish using a bucket of water. The quick response prevented any significant damage to the property.

Authorities arriving at the scene noted a black t-shirt found in front of the metal burglar bar gate, as well as damage to the glass door. Preliminary examinations suggested that the fire was deliberately set, prompting further investigation.

Despite search efforts, no suspect was located, and local fire authorities were called in to process the scene.

  1. Another great reason for cameras to be installed in strategic locations in and around the city from dickenson bay street to vivian richards street area, around the market and even a few on the outskirts (for example Harney Motors corner, Dees corner, Robinson corner, town house crossroads.

  2. Hope the perp(s) is/are caught and thoroughly investigated. That house, though its described location should raise an eyebrow, was located, it appears, in the constituency of the beg-back loser, Harold Lovell!

What could have caused this? Is there a beef somewhere. In any case that’s some evil thinking right there

  6. People are evil. The days are evil. I’m so glad the homeowner was alert and able to extinguish the flames quickly. It just goes to show how a community can build a home and that vigilance and prompt action can turn a potential disaster into a victory for safety. There must be some beef with the neighbours. For me personally, instead of lamenting on who did what, Let’s celebrate that quick-thinking neighbor who alerted the authorities—teamwork truly makes a difference! Here’s to triumphs over adversity and keeping our communities safe! 🎉🔥🏡

  7. The question on everyone’s mind must be: why? Was this a personal dispute? An act of revenge? Or something even more sinister? I hope the investigation uncovers the motive behind this heinous act. Knowing the “why” can sometimes help prevent future incidents.
