A local summer camp is turning lessons in compassion into action with the launch of a community Toiletry Drive aimed at helping vulnerable families across Antigua and Barbuda.
Peetron’s Work Fu Um Summer Camp kicked off the month-long initiative on Saturday, encouraging donations of everyday hygiene essentials such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, and sanitary products. The items collected will be distributed to individuals and families in need before the end of August.
Camp Director Peetron Thomas said the project is as much about shaping young minds as it is about providing material support.
“My passion for humanitarian work is something I want to pass on to the next generation,” Thomas stated. “Through this project, our campers are learning the importance of community service, empathy, and the impact of helping others.
Known for blending fun activities with life lessons, Work Fu Um Summer Camp is involving its young participants in every stage of the drive, from gathering supplies to delivering them.
The public is invited to take part by dropping off donations at SunCity Restaurant & Bar, located at Anchorage Inn, or by contacting Thomas at (268) 775-1595 for more information.
Organizers say the campaign reflects the camp’s broader mission: nurturing socially conscious youth who understand that lending a hand to others is an essential part of community life.

Very nice. I commend this camp
For once Petron and “history making” are not in the same sentence. Lol
I am so proud to hear about this! This youth camp is not just keeping kids busy during the summer; they are teaching them invaluable life lessons. This toiletry drive is a perfect example of turning compassion into concrete action.
