Police Look Into Shooting Incident in Bendals

The police are investigating a shooting incident that took place in Bendals on Tuesday, August 12.

Police report that around 12:30 p.m., a 37-year-old man from All Saints was driving from east to west along the road leading from Pioneer Kennels, when a man approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, dressed in a black hoodie, black pants, and armed with a gun, exited a parked vehicle and opened fire at him.

While fleeing, the victim’s vehicle crashed into a fence and collided with another vehicle on Bendals Main Road. He suffered a gunshot wound to his right hand and was taken to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he is presently receiving care and his injury is not considered life-threatening.

Police report that the suspects were last seen fleeing the area in a white Honda Fit motor car.

They are appealing to anyone with information that may assist in this investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call the Crime Stoppers anonymous hotline at 800-TIPS (8477).

  2. It’s rather unfortunate that this has became part of Antigua’s routine for the citizens. Gun violence has really become prevenalent with no signs of stopping. The guns that the police retrieve are still as equivalent to those that are not retrieved.
