The outlook for the Leeward Islands remains positive as Tropical Storm Erin continues to track north of the region, keeping its strongest winds away from local communities.
At 2 p.m. AST, the storm’s centre was positioned about 330 miles east-northeast of Barbuda, with sustained winds holding steady at 75 mph. Erin is moving west-northwest at 17 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center.
While the system could strengthen further, its current forecast path suggests minimal direct impact on the islands. Nevertheless, forecasters stress the importance of maintaining preparedness as the Atlantic hurricane season enters its most active months.
Authorities are advising residents to keep monitoring official updates and to review emergency plans, as storm tracks can change unexpectedly.
