Police Urge Residents to Step Up Security Amid Break-In Concerns

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda is appealing to residents to strengthen home security measures following a series of recent break-ins and thefts.

While officials say the incidents are not yet widespread, they admit the reports have raised serious concern within the Police Administration. In response, additional security measures have already been put in place to tackle the problem.

Authorities are encouraging homeowners and tenants to remain vigilant and adopt precautionary practices to safeguard their properties. Among the recommendations are:
• Lock all doors and windows securely at all times.
• Install reliable security systems for added protection and peace of mind.
• Keep valuable items out of sight and avoid leaving them unattended outdoors.
• Report suspicious individuals or vehicles loitering in communities to the nearest police station or by calling 911.

The Police Administration is also calling on the public to support their crime prevention efforts. In a statement, officials reassured residents that the safety and comfort of communities remain a top priority.

  5. Do the police work for them is what they are saying. I say this because, I have a security system and someone still broke in and to get the footage to the police they still give you $#!+ ,when you yourself deliver it. Then they tell u the person who will be dealing with it will be working until the next day and they will call. Then wanna come 2 days after to dust for prints and then After 2 weeks nothing then calling and calling nothing. Then drive go to get more attitude because the officer shift about to end and after waiting 20mins just to tell you they still investigating. A lot more there but it’s not even worth it. CUZ 6 months later I just have to walk away and take the loss.
