Antigua and Barbuda’s EcoShores Expeditions will represent the twin-island nation at the TechBeach Retreat Carbon Shift Demo Day on August 21, a high-profile showcase for climate technology start-ups across the Caribbean.

The event marks the culmination of the Carbon Shift Climate Tech Startup Program, an eight-week accelerator developed by TBR Lab, in partnership with Europe’s Climate-KIC and the Development Bank of Jamaica. The initiative supports early-stage Caribbean founders with mentorship, funding readiness, and international networks aimed at driving climate resilience and sustainable growth.

“Our mission at EcoShores has always been to bridge environmental conservation with technological innovation,” said Britney McDonald, Founder/CEO at EcoShores Expeditions. “The Carbon Shift accelerator has been an invaluable platform to strengthen our impact and connect with leaders shaping a sustainable future for our region and internationally. We have built a network with founders from other Caribbean islands seeking to make a positive impact.”

McDonald, who holds a master’s degree in computer information systems from Boston University, has been leading efforts to develop a regenerative tourism product that blends environmental conservation with technology. She added that being selected to present at Demo Day is also a powerful moment for representation.

“Seeing women, Caribbean women, working in technology spaces and participating at this level is something we dreamed of, for our team to be selected for the program has been motivation to keep pushing forward. Our young people need these examples of perseverance and progress” she said.

Alongside its commercial work, EcoShores will also highlight the efforts of its nonprofit arm, the EcoShores Sustainable Futures Network (ESFN), which runs community and educational projects in Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, and other islands.

The Carbon Shift Demo Day will connect EcoShores and other start-ups with a global audience of investors, partners, and climate resilience stakeholders.
