In celebration of World Senior Citizens Day, Former Political Leader Harold Lovell visited All Saints West to pay tribute to the community’s two centenarians, highlighting the importance of respecting and supporting the nation’s elders.
Lovell met with 102-year-old Christopher Neville Browne of Freemans Village and 100-year-old Denzil Cummings of Seaview Farm. Both men were celebrated for their longevity, resilience, and the wealth of knowledge they have contributed to their communities over the decades.
During his visit, Lovell reflected on the lessons seniors impart to their communities, noting, “If you want to know the heart of a village, listen to its elders.” He emphasized that honoring seniors is not only a matter of tradition but also of ensuring their wellbeing and continued participation in community life.
The visit also highlighted the upcoming All Saints West Health Fair, set for Sunday, 24th August at Buckleys School Grounds from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The free event will feature health screenings, wellness sessions, and activities aimed at keeping seniors active, engaged, and healthy.
Lovell’s tribute serves as a reminder of the vital role that older citizens play in society, celebrating their achievements and encouraging communities to support them in maintaining vibrant and fulfilling lives.

Great
So couldnt he have done this before he decided to run? I bet thats the first time they seeing his face since he in politics. AND SO WHAT!!!!!!!! if you gave out two pairs of shoes.. chupssss
The gesture would have been nice if it were not political and they didn’t even try to pretty up the gifts by gift wrapping them. Just look at the tacky brown paper bag!!! Chuuuupsss.
Love that this was done in All Saints West. Too often, rural communities are overlooked in these kinds of celebrations.
Our grandparents built the foundation we stand on. Celebrating them reminds us of where we come from.
While it’s good to see Lovell engaging with the community, I hope this isn’t just for photo ops. Our seniors need ongoing support, not just recognition on special days.
