Delegations from the National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda (NYPAAB) and the St. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association (SKNYPA) engaged in a series of high-level courtesy calls with key leaders of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis on Monday, 18th August 2025.
The young parliamentarians met with Her Excellency Dame Marcella Liburd, Governor-General of St. Kitts and Nevis; Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, a founding member of SKNYPA; Minister of Sustainable Development, Climate Action, and Environment Hon. Dr. Joyelle Clarke; Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Lanein Blanchette; and the Leader and Deputy Leader of the People’s Action Movement, Mrs. Natasha Grey-Brookes and Mr. Azard Gumbs.

Discussions centered on the Eastern Caribbean Youth Parliament Network (ECYPN) agreement and the crucial role of youth in shaping governance, sustainable development, and regional integration. The meetings offered the delegates an opportunity to exchange perspectives, gain insights from seasoned leaders, and explore ways to strengthen youth collaboration across the Caribbean.
Delegates described the experience as inspiring, reinforcing their commitment to serve as advocates for positive change in their communities and throughout the region. The engagements also highlighted the growing influence of youth voices in regional governance and underscored the importance of fostering cross-national dialogue among emerging leaders.
