The long wait for proper road infrastructure in parts of All Saints West is finally beginning to ease.
Member of Parliament Anthony Smith Jr. says he is “very excited” about the ongoing works in Lightfoot, where concrete pouring has officially started after decades of neglect.
“For over 40 years, residents here have lived without proper infrastructure. To see concrete finally going down is very exciting for the people of All Saints West,” Smith said, noting that several other roads across the constituency have already been prepared for similar upgrades.
The works form part of what Smith describes as a wider development plan aimed at ensuring “no community is left behind.” Upcoming projects are expected to benefit residents in Herberts, St. Clair Heights, Bellevue Heights, Buckleys, Seaview Farm, and Freemans Village.
Smith reaffirmed his pledge to address long-standing infrastructure issues throughout the constituency, saying the road improvements reflect campaign commitments made in collaboration with the Ministry of Works.

Oliver’s next
Good start, but let’s make sure the works are done properly and not just patchwork that won’t last through the next rainy season.
I see a lot of concrete roads which is a good thing since they stand up longer and better than the asphalt variety and therefore are more cost effective in the long run. Way to go!!!
Smith is doing good for the short space of time he has been in his position….I expect more great things from him
