Jumarah Jarvis Crowned Work fu um Junior Ambassador
Nine-year-old Jumarah Jarvis is the new Work fu um Junior Ambassador after capturing the crown at the Working Dreamers Junior Pageant 2025 on the weekend.
The event, staged at Sun City on Anchorage Road, marked the grand finale of the annual Work fu um Summer Camp, which ran for a month and was followed by two weeks of pageant preparation. This year’s camp and pageant were held under the theme “When I Grow Up,” encouraging children to showcase their dreams, creativity, and career ambitions.
Jarvis topped a field of eight delegates to claim the title, with 11-year-old Shedi-Anne Edwards named First Runner-Up and appointed Deputy Ambassador, and 8-year-old Khloe Desilver placing Second Runner-Up, earning the role of Assistant Ambassador. The trio now make up the initiative’s Ambassador Circle, serving as the youthful representatives of the Work fu um program.
Along with the crown, Jarvis received a $1,500 prize package that includes a stipend, studio time with Island Trap, a three-song recording deal, a music video, and a professional photoshoot to support her artistic journey.
The Work fu um Summer Camp drew a diverse group of participants, including students from China, and exposed children to cultural development, literacy, leadership training, music, and swimming, as well as life skills such as career planning and personal safety awareness.
Founder and Camp Director Peetron Thomas described the journey as inspiring.
“I’m just so grateful for this opportunity to serve the nation and to witness the development of our youth. To see the transition from when the campers first came in to the confidence they are now walking out with is truly inspiring. To see my book become a soca song, then a camp, then a pageant and now to have an ambassador for the Work fu um Initiative, I’m just so excited. And there’s more to come. I love what I do, and I must give a big shout-out to my team, to Sun City, to the pageant trainers, the judges, and everyone who made this progress possible. None of this would have been possible without my very strong team, and I’m really grateful for the support given. I look forward to nothing but great success in the near future.”
The pageant, hosted by Chaniel Imhoff and Suzetta Hamilton, drew strong support from families and well-wishers, adding to what organizers say has been one of the most successful years yet.
With its new ambassadors in place, the Work fu um Initiative is looking to build on its mission of empowering young people through education, culture, and leadership.

Congratulations to Jumarah! What an amazing achievement at just nine years old. Can’t wait to see all the great things she accomplishes as Junior Ambassador.
