Two Men Await Sentencing After Admitting to Cannabis Possession

Two men are due back in court next week for sentencing after pleading guilty to unrelated cases of cannabis possession.

The first defendant, Dwain Branche of Grays Farm, was taken into custody after police raided his Pigotts business late on the night of August 29.

Acting on a warrant, officers searched the premises and discovered a plastic bag containing what appeared to be cannabis. When questioned, Branche admitted the drug was his. He appeared in court on Monday, where he entered a guilty plea. His sentencing is scheduled for Friday.

In a separate case, police charged Orville Nedd and Crystal Jeffers, also of Pigotts, following the discovery of 1.3 pounds of cannabis. Nedd accepted responsibility and pleaded guilty, while prosecutors withdrew the charge against Jeffers. He has been remanded until his sentencing hearing on Monday.
