Road Closure in Cedar Valley as APUA Upgrades Water Infrastructure Cedar Valley

Motorists in Cedar Valley are being advised of temporary road disruptions as the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) continues essential water infrastructure upgrades.

The Water Business Unit announced that upgrade and installation works are progressing in the area and will move into a new section on Thursday, 4 September 2025. As a result, a section of Cedar Valley Main Road—from the junction at Friars Hill Road to the corner at Old Popeshead Road—will be temporarily inaccessible.

APUA has directed motorists to use Old Popeshead Road as a detour to reach Friars Hill Road or continue to Cedar Valley Road.

The project involves laying new transmission lines that will connect to the 2 MIG Reverse Osmosis Plant at Shell Beach. Officials say the work is aimed at strengthening the water system and improving reliability for communities across the northern corridor.

The Authority apologizes for any inconvenience and thanked the public for their patience and cooperation while the work is completed.

  3. Understandably, a few inconveniences will be encountered but are nothing on light of the benefits to be had. So folks, please show some patients as APUA does what it has to do.
