Rising footballer Daryl “Shatta” Massicot is one step closer to his dream of playing on the international stage, and he has the backing of one of his community’s longest-serving supporters.
Massicot, who has earned a spot at a specialized training programme in Jamaica, has been a standout member of the Sir Molwyn Joseph Jennings United Football Club. The club, supported by the St. Mary’s North MP for more than 40 years, has long been a breeding ground for young football talent.
Sir Molwyn congratulated the promising player on his achievement and pledged to provide whatever guidance and assistance is needed to help him succeed.
“I am proud to have watched him grow through our community football programme. I pledge my full support and guidance as he takes this important step toward representing Antigua and Barbuda on the international stage,” Sir Molwyn said.
For his part, Massicot said he is grateful for the continued mentorship and encouragement, promising to make the most of the opportunity and to represent both his community and country with pride.

Congrats young man! Keep focused and stay disciplined. You carry the dreams of many with you.
It’s encouraging to see an MP supporting sports development in a real way, not just talking.
Congratulations young man. Just stay positive and focused
